“To know that I’m going to serve means the world to me” PACMAT Tonga 2022
Updates / News, 22 Apr 22
Seini Falefata is part of the Medical Assistance Team (PACMAT) deployed to Tonga, where she has the responsibility of being the Nurse Lead for the mission.

“The main part of my role is to support the team when we get to Tonga and support the Tonga team with whatever it is that they want us to do and work out ways that we can do that to the best of our potential.”

Mrs Falefata expresses her gratitude and thankfulness for the opportunity to be a part of the PACMAT team in Tonga, a trip that she sees as a privilege to be on.

“This means a lot to me. I’ve got my family back in Tonga and family here who are a bit anxious and wish they could be in my shoes.

To know that I’m going to serve means the world to me. This is an opportunity for me; I don’t see it as a job, it’s purely an opportunity to get there and give whatever I have, alongside the team and hopefully we’ll be of use to our Tongan people.”

This deployment is funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
