PMA Webinar: "A great way to connect, network and learn"
Updates / Events, 15 Nov 22
The Pasifika Medical Association (PMA) Pasifika Health Leaders Webinar will take place tonight, themed ‘The Changing Face of Health Practitioners’. The PMA webinar will be hosted in various locations around the country and will also be accessible online.

Canterbury District Health Board (CDHB) Dentist and Etu Pasifika Christchurch Board Director, Dr Tule Misa, will feature in the webinar as one of the guest speakers and looks forward to offering her insights from an Oral Health perspective.

“I’m really honoured to be one of the speakers for the webinar and I look forward to bringing my knowledge and expertise in oral health to the table. One of the topics I want to shed light on is the oral health journey of Pasifika people compared to others in New Zealand.

It’s important to ask ourselves what we can do to highlight the importance of oral health while also looking towards how we can build the Pasifika dental workforce here in Aotearoa.”

Dr Misa says the webinars are an opportunity to facilitate a space to talanoa and she hopes to see young aspiring health professionals in attendance.

“This is a great way for our young health professionals to be a part of the conversation; it’s an opportunity for myself to engage with them around how we can start changing our approach to include oral health as part of general health.

I hope to see both experienced and aspiring health professionals come along. This is a great way to connect, network and learn from each other.”

The PMA Pasifika Health Leaders Webinar will take place Wednesday 16 November 2022 from 5:00pm - 6:00pm. The webinar will be available online via zoom and hosted in person across Auckland, Waikato, Tauranga, Wellington and Dunedin. For more information or to register, click here.
