The Elizabeth Powell Nursing Scholarship, a testament to Delisa's dedication, has strengthened her conviction.
"This achievement has reaffirmed that pursuing this pathway was indeed God's plan, so I am deeply thankful for being granted this honour."
Rooted in her upbringing shaped by late grandparents, Tolotea and Fatu Pau'u, who ventured from Samoa to provide a better life, Delisa embodies their values.
"Their steadfast values, unwavering faith, prayers, and devotion to God, along with their emphasis on strong work ethics within our family, have served as a foundation that keeps me focused and motivates me to continually strive for the better," she acknowledges.
Delisa's vision for Pacific health extends beyond personal success.
"I hope for a future where every Pacific individual enjoys the highest standard of physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being."
Her aspirations include contributing to a healthcare system that is inclusive, equitable, and culturally sensitive. Moreover, she aims to inspire and mentor the next generation of Pacific nurses, fostering a robust workforce across specialties.
"I want to be a nurse practitioner and also eventually be able to educate and mentor others through their pathway to becoming a nurse practitioner too."
