It is with our delight to announce that Executive Board Member and member of Pasifika Medical Association Membership, Dr Siniva Sinclair has been nominated as a candidate for the 2018 on the Medical Council of New Zealand’s Council election.
The Medical Council of New Zealand main purpose is to protect public health and safety in New Zealand and believe that patients’ interests are best served by independent, accountable regulation
The Medical Council of New Zealand is governed by a 12-member council appointed by the Minister of Health and four of these members must be doctors elected by the profession.
We have no doubt that Dr Sinclair has all the experience and expertise that make her a competent and skilled nominee that should she be selected, will thrive in this role adding value to The Council.
Having excelled in a career devoted to serving the needs of our Pacific and Health communities, Dr Siniva Sinclair explains why her passion, purpose and commitment makes her an outstanding candidate.
“A strong Medical Council is vital to assure the safety and quality of healthcare provision. I bring to this role broad experience from growing up in Papua New Guinea, training in New Zealand, and working in Samoa, the Asia-Pacific region and most recently South Auckland.”

“My experience in workforce development, clinical leadership and governance roles in both DHB and NGO sectors, combined with my collaborative and consultative style I believe will serve the Council well should I be elected.”

Registered doctors who do not have an email address recorded with the Medical Council of NZ will be posted a voter pack on Monday 19 February 2018.
Voting will close at 12 noon on Friday 23 March 2018”
