HRH Queen Mother of Tonga, the late Halaevalu Mata’aho

Pasifika Medical Association Patron, Dr Joseph Williams has expressed his condolences to the Tongan Royal Family following the passing of Queen Mother Halaevalu Mata’aho.

Dr Williams says Her Majesty has led an exemplary life with humility and care for her people. Her passing will no doubt be mourned by all Tongans and by many of the Pacific Islands.

On behalf of PMA Chairman, Board of Directors, Chief Executive and Staff, we would like to express our deepest condolences to His Royal Highness, King Tupou VI, Princess Sālote Mafile’o Pilolevu Tuita, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and the people of the Kingdom of Tonga.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Tonga’s Queen Mother Halaevalu Mata’aho died in Auckland, aged 90.

Queen Mata’aho is survived by her son King Tupou VI and daughter Princess Sālote Mafile’o Pilolevu Tuita, 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
