Board Chair for the PMA Membership, Dr Jitoko Cama (FRACS), shared about the importance of the scholarships in contributing to the growth and success of the Pacific health workforce.

“The scholarships reflect on the legacy of Pacific health leaders who have led the way in their respective fields. We hope this encourages recipients to seize the opportunity they’ve been given to make their own mark in the medical field.

PMA is leading the way in providing opportunities to grow our workforce and we look forward to seeing more scholarships in years to come.”

Board Director for the PMA Group, Sir Collin Tukuitonga, reminded Scholarship recipients how important it is to give back to their community and remain connected. 

“This scholarship is like a contract; the work does not stop here and it’s important to keep in mind the communities that are in need of our services as medical professionals. 

Working in the medical field is not an easy feat and it requires a lot of passion, heart and tenacity. Let the scholarship be a reminder that you’ve been selected as a leader in this field of work; you have a responsibility to uphold the legacy behind the namesake of these scholarships.”
