Tausi Moana Netball Festival officially opens registrations for 2026
Updates / Events, 17 Sep 26
The Tausi Moana Netball Festival has officially opened registrations for 2026, to be held on Saturday 17th October at the Auckland Netball Centre in St John's, Auckland. Formerly known as Moana Pasifika Community, the newly rebranded community sports programme, Tausi Moana, is looking forward to bringing teams together for a day of fun and connection.

Since the inaugural festival in 2024, the event has gathered thousands of people at the Centre to celebrate and participate in the sport.

Tausi Moana's Director of Sports and Wellbeing, Leeson Ah Mau, says the festival is part of their overall strategy to highlight sport as a powerful catalyst for unity, identity, belonging and engagement.

"Like many other codes, netball brings together whole communities – families, friends, clubs, work colleagues. This is a great opportunity to get everyone involved, whether that's on or off the court."

The festival welcomes team registrations for the following grades:

  • Under 14 Girls

  • Under 16 Girls

  • Under 18 Girls

  • Year 7 & 8 Mixed

  • Open Mixed – Social Grade

Registrations are priced low at $50 per team, with the purpose of reducing financial barriers and increasing participation in sport and movement. There will also be food stalls and a DJ for families to enjoy.

Since relaunching the programme under the Pasifika Medical Association (PMA) Group last week, Tausi Moana is currently planning more future events to support their vision of "Thriving and prosperous Pacific communities through the transformative power of sports.”

"We're excited to continue our commitment to Pacific communities through sport, highlighting the connection that sport has with health, wellbeing, leadership and community development.

"The netball festival is a great way to foster this connection, and we look forward to hosting more events and initiatives for our communities in the near future," Ah Mau says.

Teams can now register here.
