The Pacific Social Enterprise Award recognises Pacific organisations investing and serving their community, whether it be through economic, social, cultural or environmental means. The Leadership in the Pacific Community Award recognises organisations who have demonstrated servanthood by assisting Pacific communities, especially throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

PMA President, Dr Kiki Maoate, says the nominations are a reflection of the organisation’s commitment to serving Pacific families. 

“It is really humbling to be recognised by our own community for our work and contribution, particularly over this very difficult time in the past two years during the Covid-19 pandemic.

We’re grateful that our investment into Pacific communities have been acknowledged and although we’ve been recognised as an organisation, we would not be here without the support of our families and our many partners that have supported our work.”

PMA CEO, Mrs Debbie Sorensen, says it has been a collective effort and leading with selflessness to ensure Pacific families in Aotearoa have been given the best means of support and care. 

“We have over 7000 PMA Members who are devoted to providing the best means of support for our communities. The spirit of service flows right through all of our organisations; we are clinically led by doctors, nurses and health professionals and we are culturally anchored to our Pacific values. 

These nominations are the reflection of the work of our partners and our communities. When I think of how far PMA has come, I recognise the selfless work by many individuals over many years in contributing to our success.”

The 2022 Pacific Business Trust Awards will be held on Friday 11 November 2022.
