Updates / News, 3 Jun 25
The spirit of Moana Pasifika shone brightly as players, staff, families and supporters gathered to celebrate the 2025 Moana Pasifika Awards Night, an evening that honoured not only individual excellence, but also the shared pride and purpose that continues to power this movement forward.

The awards recognised performances on and off the field, with players acknowledged for leadership, perseverance, and their contributions to the team and wider community.

Pasifika Medical Association Group (PMAG) President and Moana Pasifika Board Chair, Dr Kiki Maoate KNZM, praised the players and the collective strength of the community behind them.

“Congratulations to our players for everything they’ve poured into this season; the effort, the resilience, and the heart. We’re proud of what you’ve achieved. And to all our supporters, thank you. You are the heartbeat of this team, and your belief keeps us moving forward.”

His words were echoed by PMAG and Moana Pasifika CEO, Debbie Sorensen ONZM, reflected on the growth of the franchise and what lies ahead.

“This has been a season of growth and pride for the players, the club, and our people. Moana Pasifika is more than a rugby team; it’s a movement. And the future is looking bright. We’re here to stay.”
